Activities include mountain biking, arts and crafts, archery, athletics, canoeing, swimming and camp wide games. TCDC incorporates educational sessions into daily activities by providing fun learning programs geared toward juvenile diabetes management.
TCDC is committed to teaching children with Type 1 diabetes how to live a normal and active lifestyle. The medical staff includes health care providers, nurses, and dieticians from the University of Tennessee and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Each sleeping cabin has two counselors and all activities are supervised by specialty counselors. Certified lifeguards oversee all water sports and provide campers Beginner through Advanced swimming instruction.
Double G Ranch is located at 2622 Lee Pike in Soddy, TN on beautiful lake front property. The Double G has served as home for TCDC since the late 1950’s. Facilities include dining hall, infirmary, open air gym, swimming pool and twelve sleeping cabins.

Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children
The camp is committed to teaching children with diabetes how to live a normal and active lifestyle.
Many on our staff are former campers and are living with Type 1 diabetes.
Balanced, healthy and fresh meals are prepared by our camp chef. Meals are served in the dining hall. The meals program has been designed by our dietician and is used as an opportunity to teach campers about carb counting and correctly calculating insulin doses.
Lodge with dining hall & kitchen, infirmary, central shower house, swimming pool, 12 sleeping cabins, dock on the lake and large open air gymnasium with athletic field.
There are five cabins on the girls’ side and five cabins on the boys’ side, each sleeping nine campers and two counselors, as well as one cabin on each side sleeping special activity staff.

The Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children has served the community for 62 years!
At TCDC we have a variety of daily activities for campers. Campers rotate through 3 morning sessions and 2 afternoon sessions which include swimming, athletics, canoeing, mountain biking, archery and arts and crafts as well as educational sessions with certified diabetes educators. Each day is different and exciting.
